Counselling in Polish
Counselling in Polish in the UK
I offer counselling and psychotherapy sessions conducted entirely in Polish, for people who feel more comfortable — or simply prefer — working with a therapist who speaks their own language.
Why counselling in your own language
Talking about difficult feelings is hard enough without also having to translate them into a second language. Working in Polish means you don't have to search for the right English word, simplify what you're going through, or lose some of the meaning along the way — you can speak exactly as you would with someone who's known you your whole life.
Who this is for
Whatever brought you to the UK — work, family, or a fresh start — adjusting to a new country and a new system while also dealing with life's difficulties can be especially hard to do in a second language, on top of everything else that's going on. Cultural and immigration-related challenges are one of the areas I regularly work with, alongside the same full range covered on the Areas of Support page — anxiety, low mood, relationships, grief, and more. Counselling in Polish isn't a different service, just the same support in the language that feels most natural to you.
Sessions aren't limited to clients based in the UK — the same online sessions work well for Polish speakers anywhere, including Ireland and elsewhere in Europe.
How sessions work
The service itself is exactly the same as for any client: Face-to-face, online (Zoom), and telephone, 1 hour sessions, with free 15-minute call before the first full session to start. Fees, working hours, and booking are all the same too — see Sessions & Fees for the full detail. I'm a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), registration number 418237, MBACP, working in line with their Ethical Framework.
