Relationships and self-esteem
Whether it's a specific relationship — with a partner, family member, or friend — or a more general sense of not feeling good enough, this work looks at the patterns and beliefs behind how you relate to others and to yourself.
What this can look like
This area can cover recurring patterns in your relationships — difficulty trusting others, struggling to set or hold boundaries, or finding yourself in the same painful dynamics more than once. It can also include the effects of being let down, betrayed, or manipulated, and a harsh, critical inner voice that makes it hard to feel good enough as you are. For some people, this work also touches questions of identity and belonging, including sexuality, LGBTQ+ experience, or navigating cultural and immigration-related change.
How counselling can help
Together we'll look at the patterns and beliefs behind how you relate to others and to yourself, and where they may have come from. This is often slow, steady work — building a clearer, kinder sense of who you are, and more confidence in how you show up in the relationships that matter to you.
